The Caring Kids 13th annual holiday gift drive is underway. Please help them support the families of the New Jersey Regional Day School and the Center for Autism in Newark.
If you would like to sponsor someone and provide them with gifts for the holidays, or if you need more information, please email Sharon Cohen at firstname.lastname@example.org
. They are also collecting Shoprite and Walmart gift cards to help the families with basic necessities. The need this year is greater than ever before.
The annual holiday party is on Saturday, December 16th, from 12-2pm. You may bring the gifts to Hartshorn School for a festive gift-wrapping, card-making, chocolate-treat-dipping celebration.
Please help Caring Kids spread our message of changing the world, one kid at a time, by sponsoring someone in need.
Community-Wide ONE MILLBURN event is being coordinated by Community Congregational Church, The Millburn/Short Hills Coalition of Religious Leaders (all local faiths) and Millburn High School students.
Volunteers are needed to pack 1,000 food parcels to be distributed at Oasis, a food, period supply, and diaper distribution agency in Irvington. This will be followed by a Thanksgiving & Peace Vigil - a service of music and culturally inclusive prayers for peace, led by students from Millburn Schools, and an informal reception to socialize with your neighbors.
3 -4:30 pm: Service Project (in Church Hall)
4:45 - 5:30 pm: Peace Vigil
5:30 pm: Reception
Please mark your calendars, and share with your neighbors, family and friends. This is an opportunity for all in our community to unite for peace in the season of Thanksgiving. All are welcome

Tomorrow is Election Day. If you haven't voted yet, Dr. Burton will be holding another Referendum Information Session, tonight at 6:30 pm before the 7 pm Board of Education Meeting. The $12,975,262 bond will authorize the district to provide for a variety of renovations, alterations and maintenance projects at all of our schools, including renovation of the Millburn High School Auditorium, updating science labs, roof projects and more. The state will reimburse 40% of the costs, and there is no increase to the debt portion of taxes. Flip the ballot to find the Board of Education Candidates, and the Bond Question.
Reminder: There is a delayed opening for students tomorrow. All schools open two hours later than usual for Staff Development.
