About the College Counseling Program
My role as the College Counselor is to enhance support for students and families in all aspects of post-secondary planning, career exploration, and college admissions. I collaborate with our School Counselors to promote students' social, emotional, and academic growth, ensuring that all students have the tools and resources they need to achieve their goals.
The College Counseling Program at MHS is committed to fostering a foundation for lifelong learning by promoting self-respect, awareness of others, self-efficacy, and access to individual interventions and community resources. Our vision is for students to understand career pathways, successfully navigate the college and career planning process, and make informed decisions about their future. By working in partnership with educators, parents, and the community, we strive to help students develop the skills and knowledge necessary to be productive, contributing members of society.Planning for life after high school is an exciting part of your student experience here at MHS. Whether it is planning to attend a 2 or 4-year college, enlisting in the military, or joining a trade, there are endless options in front of you. The counseling team at MHS is committed to helping you find the best way to reach your future career goals.
Post-secondary planning begins with self-reflection. Each student will take time to research, explore, process, reflect and ultimately make decisions about their post-secondary plans along with their counselor and families. Reflecting on your goals, values, strengths, weaknesses, interests and rationale for your decision making will help you determine the right fit for you.
Here you will find resources to help you navigate your college and career needs.
